What is your refund policy?
- If no BTW instruction was given before the beginning of the third class session, 80% of the total tuition will be refunded.
- After the beginning of the third class session, no refund shall be given.
How long does it take to complete driver ed?
The completion time depends on age, scheduling flexibility, and instructor availability. Typically, each student is done with the classroom portion and behind-the-wheel lessons within six weeks.
Do I need a temporary license to start driver ed?
If you are 18 or older, you'll need a valid, unexpired (TIP) learner license or driver's license to start driving lessons. If you are under 18 and have taken the driver education class, you'll need a valid, unexpired learner permit to start driving lessons. If you are between 14.5 and 17, you do not need a license or permit to take our driver education class.
When can I begin drivers ed? How old do I need to be to start driver ed?
You must be 14 years and eight months old in Michigan to begin your driver's education courses. Check the Segment 1 Start Date Look-Up Table to see if your student can take driver's ed.
How do I sign up for your driver education courses?

What happens after I complete the class?
After completing the class, your student will need to take their certificate of completion to SOS to get their learner's permit.
How long does it take to complete the class?
It takes 2 hours/day for 12 days to complete segment 1—a total of 24 hours.
What happens if I miss a class?
You must make up the same day missed in the next session.
Do I need a permit to start classes?
No permit is required to take the Segment 1 class. However, the student must be at least 14 years and nine months old by the first day of class.
Are your instructors licensed?
Yes, each of our instructors is licensed by the state to teach classroom and behind-the-wheel training to all age groups.
Do you offer both Segment I and Segment II driver education services?
Yes, we do! You can take both Segments through Dynamic Duo Driving School. If you have taken Segment I at a different driving school, you can still take Segment II with Dynamic Duo Driving School. Behind-the-Wheel
How fast can I complete behind-the-wheel lessons?
This depends on your scheduling flexibility and instructor availability. You can take one 1 hour behind-the-wheel lesson each (1 hour BTW & 1 hour OBS) day and schedule up to three driving lessons in advance. You must have one practice day between lessons. So you could schedule Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Once you complete Monday's lesson, you could schedule another upcoming lesson.
How do I schedule a behind-the-wheel lesson?
All teen driving lessons will be scheduled during the parent meeting on the first day of class. If you missed the parent meeting or are an adult taking private driving lessons, log in to your student account on our website. Choose an available time and your preferred instructor.
Do I need to have my own car insurance for behind-the-wheel?
No, you are covered under our commercial insurance during all behind-the-wheel training.
Can I use my own car?
No, our vehicles have safety features (passenger brake, passenger mirror, student driver signs, etc.) that don't come in standard cars.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my driving lesson?
If you need to reschedule a lesson, you may do so by logging into your account on our website. You must cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $75 late or no-show cancellation fee.
Can I request to have lessons with a friend?
Yes, as long as the instructor you choose has two available spots.
Will I have other students in the car with me?
You will have one other student with you for at least four driving lessons.
Will I have the same instructor for every lesson?
Our scheduling software lets you see all available driving lessons and who is teaching them. If the lessons are open, you may choose the same instructor for each lesson or try a different instructor.
Can I request a specific driving instructor?
Our scheduling software lets you see all available driving lessons and who is teaching them. If your preferred instructor is open, you can select them for a lesson. As of now, there is only one instructor. More instructors will join in 2024.
What will I learn during my behind-the-wheel lessons?
Each student will have a total of 6 drives and 4 observations. Students will learn everything they need to prepare them for their road test.
Do you offer home pick-up and drop-off?
All driving lessons start and end at our office. Please speak with the instructor beforehand if you need to be picked up or dropped off for a lesson.
When can I start the behind-the-wheel lessons?
You can start driving lessons anytime if you have a valid learner permit or driver's license. You can schedule driving lessons on our website once you have registered and paid in full. If you are under 18, you must complete four hours of driver ed class before starting behind-the-wheel lessons.
What safety equipment are your cars equipped with?
All vehicles are equipped with a dual brake on the passenger side for the instructor.
Do you charge a cancellation fee?
If you fail to show up for a lesson or do not cancel or reschedule on our website at least 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a $75 late cancellation fee for BTW.
